Born from Hustle
From a bar dream, to ginning the best gin to the world.
Our founders, drinks and hospitality aficionados Mikey ‘Mr Gin Australia’ and Julian ‘The Experience Creator’, met back in 2012, brought together by one goal: to open their own bar. Bootstrapping The Barber Shop from zero, this perfect pairing turned a bold concept into Australia’s award-winning gin destination.
Blending Mikey’s creativity and industry reputation, with Julian’s strategic smarts and drinks experience, he went on to launch a ‘House of Spirits’ – chasing the dream of distilling the best contemporary Aussie gin in the world. And after many late nights, plenty of errors and relentless tinkering, boom! Hickson House Gin was born.
